Our team are knowledgeable and have longstanding partnerships with all types of venues in all locations, such as hotels, stadiums, rooftop bars and event spaces.

Key Conference has developed strong partnerships with all major hotel brands and event groups and leverage this relationship to the benefit of our client.

Our buying power with venues and ability to negotiate favourable booking terms for clients is one of our most attractive offerings.

How do we make money?

Key Conference & Events are compensated by commission from venues after your event has concluded.

Think of us as a broker, offering an array of venue options for your specific event requirements.

Venues do not add commission onto their rates in order to pay Key Conference & Events; they reward us with payment for providing their venue with the opportunity to win an event.

Our team have built great relationships with our clients, which is evident in the repeat business we see year on year.

Any venues featured on this page do not pay a cent for this exposure, nor do we charge venues a membership fee to be listed.

Our collective experience

Chelsea Hellyer-Blasius

Director

Chelsea, is the proud owner and Director of Key Conference & Events and has been with the company since 2011.

Chels brings extensive hospitality and event experience to her clients following many years in operational roles both in venues and large commercial ventures.

With a passion for travel and working with people, Chels enjoys working with clients to find the perfect venue.

Chelsea offers professional, unbiased advice tailored to your event needs. In her spare time, Chelsea heads up an International Children’s Charity and spends time travelling to Indonesia, visiting their many Orphanages and planning annual fundraising events.

Chels enjoys socialising, Pilates, reading, walks and exploring new destinations. Chels now adds ‘Dance Mum’ to her list of skills as both her daughters are avid dancers; however, early mornings attaching fake lashes is not an area in which she excels.

Melanie Bowie

Business Development Manager

Melanie holds a Tourism Management Degree and has built a solid foundation in hospitality and event management.

With experience as an Event Coordinator, Operations Manager and Executive Assistant, she has successfully managed conferences and coordinated a major TV annual fundraising event for five years.

Since joining Key Conference & Events as Business Development Manager in 2019, Melanie loves nothing more than using her expertise to help our clients find the perfect venue for any event.

Mel’s passion for travel and exploring new venues has seen her visit over 25 countries. Mel is an integral member of Foster Parents Indonesia and works hard throughout the year on their fundraising events.

Mel wears many hats within the team, including being the self-appointed Social Media Manager, Marketing Manager and head of Key Conference’s Luxury Division.

Aimee Macfarlane

Executive Assistant

Aimee has worked in the Hospitality and Events Industry for 20 years in various roles, including event management, business development and, more recently, in an executive assistant role.

Aimee enjoys being organised and brings such enthusiasm to her role.

Aimee does not have a passion for cooking, however, does have a passion for a good outing with friends or family to a beautiful restaurant and a glass of wine.

If not assisting with events for Key Conference clients, you will find Aimee assisting with fundraising events at her children’s school.

Christy Pickering

Sales Support

Previously having over 12 years’ experience in the Travel Industry and being fortunate enough to venture to many countries worldwide, Christy’s favourite holiday destination has always been New York.

After having three children, Key Conference & Events has provided Christy the opportunity to re-enter the corporate world and showcase her skills.

Christy is very involved in the local community and assists the local sporting clubs with their fundraisers and events.

Christy is the epitome of a team player and works through her day with a smile and the greatest laugh. Christy loves staying fit and can be found either racing around her town walking at the speed of light or in the Pilates studio.

Paula de Almeida Dias Bandeira

Sales Support

Paula joined the team in late 2022, bringing to Key Conference & Events her exceptional organisational and administrative skills, along with her friendly and positive attitude.

With great experience in hospitality in Australia and overseas, she has a strong focus in fostering positive relationships and contributing to a collaborative work environment.

Paula has a great sense of humour is quick-witted, and enjoys sending the team funny GIFS, making the work day that much more enjoyable.

Giving Back

Foster Parents Indonesia is a small Victorian-based charity raising funds to educate children living in Indonesian orphanages.

Chelsea became involved in this charity in 2000 and has worked with them ever since, assisting the committee with events and fundraising as well as the daily running of the NFP.

Foster Parents Indonesia has grown to include eight orphanages and a kinder now and educates several hundred children annually. The Key Conference & Events team attends the fundraising events, sponsors the children and are proud to be aligned with this charity.
